The government of the City of Buenos Aires issued a series of recommendations due to the proximity of strong storms, gusts of wind, and possible hail in the region starting early Wednesday morning.
Residents are urged to avoid traveling on flooded streets, to remove pots and plastic chairs from balconies and windows to prevent accidents, and to be cautious with items like clotheslines that may pose a risk to others. It is advised to secure construction materials that could be displaced by the wind, not to use wet electrical appliances, and not to throw waste that could block storm drains.
Regarding waste management, it is reminded that the permitted time to deposit bags is from 7 PM to 9 PM from Sunday to Friday. The importance of disposing of waste within containers instead of leaving bags on the street is emphasized, as they can block drains. Citizens are recommended not to walk through wooded areas during strong winds or rain, and not to touch light poles, electrical boxes, or wires in public spaces.
Drivers are called to use seat belts at all times, to take extra precautions while driving, and to keep in mind that visibility decreases during rain, so braking distances should be adjusted. It is advised to drive at a moderate speed and keep position lights on at all times to ensure road safety.
